1 in 2 Pakistanis who own a smartphone claim to spend at least 1-2 hours of their day on the phone. 16% say 5 hours or more.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 1 in 2 Pakistanis who own a smartphone claim to spend at least 1-2 hours of their day on the phone. 16% say 5 hours or more.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces who answered in affirmative about owning a smartphone was further asked, “Typically for how many hours do you use a smartphone in a day? Please include the time to make calls, send out SMS and the time spent surfing social media (such as Facebook) in this usage time.” In response to this question, 50% say they use the phone for 1-2 hours, 28% reported they use it for 3-4 hours, 9% said for 5-6 hours, 4% said for 7-8 hours and 3% said for 9-10 hours. 3% said others and 3% did not know or did not wish to respond.
