2 in 3 (62%) mobile phone buyers bought a brand new phone in past one year; 34% bought a second hand or used phone.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 2 in 3 (62%) mobile phone buyers bought a brand new phone in the past year, whereas, 34% mobile phone buyers purchased a second hand phone.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces who had purchased a mobile phone in the past year was asked, “Please refer to your phone purchase; did you buy a new mobile phone or a second hand phone?” In response to this question, 62% said brand new and 34% said second hand. 4% did not know or wish to respond.
