A significant majority of Pakistanis (83%) believe that India poses a threat to Pakistan’s security over the next 10 years. (GALLUP & GILANI PAKISTAN POLL)

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, a significant majority of Pakistanis (83%) believe that India poses a threat to Pakistan’s security in the next 10 years.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “For each of the following countries please say whether you personally think it poses a threat or does not pose a threat to the security of Pakistan in the next ten years. And is that a major threat or a minor threat [India]?” In response to this question, 63% said that India poses a major threat to Pakistan’s security in the next 10 years, 20% said poses a minor threat, while 15% said it does not pose a threat. 2% did not know.
