Female Education: A significant majority of Pakistanis (76%) disagree with the notion that educating a girl makes her become too liberal.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, A significant majority of Pakistanis (76%) disagree with the notion that educating a girl makes her become too liberal.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Some people favour girls’ education and some oppose it. I will list a few opinions about the consequences of educating girls. Please tell me if you agree or disagree with the statement: Girls become too liberal.” In response, 16% agreed with the statement, 76% disagreed and 8% said that they did not know or wish to respond.

Trend Analysis:

In response to this question in 2013, 24% agreed with the statement, 75% disagreed, and 1% did not know or wish to respond. In 2003, 24% agreed with the statement, 73% disagreed, and 3% did not know or wish to respond. In 1998, 17% agreed with the statement, 79% disagreed, and 4% did not know or wish to respond.
