Oil consumption: 45% Pakistanis claim that Ghee is mostly used for cooking in their house.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 45% Pakistanis claim that Ghee is mostly used for cooking in their house followed by 40% who cite packaged oil as the most used oil for cooking.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “What kind of oil is used for cooking in your house?” In response, 45% said Ghee, 40% said packaged oil (e.g. Dalda, Meezan, Sufi, etc.), 7% Desi Ghee, and 7% said oil from fruits, vegetables, seeds or nuts (e.g. coconut, almond, olive, mustard, sunflower, peanut, and sesame seed oil). 1% said that they did not know or wish to respond.
