On Giving Zakat: Nearly 8 in 10 Pakistanis report that they would like to give their zakat directly to deserving people, as opposed to a zakat fund (13%) or other sources (1%).

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, nearly 8 in 10 Pakistanis report that they would like to give their Zakat directly to deserving people, as opposed to a Zakat fund (13%) or other sources (1%).

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “To whom would you like to give Zakat?” In response to this question, 78% cited deserving people, 13% said they would give it to the Zakat fund, 6% said that they are unable to give Zakat, 1% cited other options, while 2% did not know or did not wish to respond.
