Preferred Forms of Healthcare: At 66%, majority of Pakistanis prefer to visit a doctor if they happen to be sick, while 13% say they go to a hakeem.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, at 66%, majority of Pakistanis prefer to visit a doctor if they happen to be sick, while 13% say they go to a hakeem.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Which method of treatment do you prefer the most?” In response to this question, 66% said visiting a doctor, 13% said hakeem, 12% said homeopathy, 4% said dum durood, 4% said household remedies, while 1% did not know or did not wish to respond.
