Public attitude towards transgenders: 55% Pakistanis believe that transgenders are not viewed with respect in our society, 37% think otherwise.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 55% Pakistanis believe that transgenders are not viewed with respect in our society, 37% think otherwise.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Some people think transgenders are not viewed with respect in our society while others think that this is not the case. What is your opinion about this?” In response to this question, 55% said they are not viewed with respect, 37% said they are viewed with respect while 8% did not know or respond to the question.
