Zainab rape-murder case: 57% Pakistanis opine that the media coverage in regards to the incident was responsible; one third say otherwise.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 57% Pakistanis opine that the media coverage in regards to Zainab’s rape and murder was responsible; one third say otherwise.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Zainab’s rape-murder case has been given significant coverage by newspapers and other media. Do you think media coverage of the incident was responsible or irresponsible?” In response to this question, 57% said media coverage in regards to Zainab’s rape-murder was responsible, 34% said it was irresponsible, 9% did not know or wish to respond.
