4 in 5 (79%) Pakistanis agree that the children suffer when a mother works for pay. 19% disagree (World Values Survey & Gallup & Gilani Pakistan Poll)

Islamabad, 13th August, 2020

According to a World Values Survey and Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 4 in 5 (79%) Pakistanis agree that the children suffer when a mother works for pay. 19% disagree.

A representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Do you agree strongly, agree, disagree, or disagree strongly with the following statement: ‘When a mother works for pay, the children suffer’?” In response, 56% agree strongly, 23% agree, 8% disagree and 11% disagree strongly.
