7 in 10 (70%) Pakistanis are of the opinion that supporting Pakistan’s cricket team is very important for being a true Pakistani; this response was more common in males (72%) as compared to females (58%): Gallup & Gilani Pakistan

(Islamabad), November 26, 2021

According to a survey conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 7 in 10 (70%) Pakistanis are of the opinion that supporting Pakistan’s cricket team is very important for being a true Pakistani; this response was more common in males (72%) as compared to females (58%).

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “Some people think it is important to have the following aspects to be a true Pakistani whereas other people think these are not as important. To what extent do you agree? (Supporting Pakistan’s cricket team).”In response to this question, 70% said very important, 16% said somewhat important, 5% said very little important, and 5% said not important at all. 4% did not know or provided no response.

Question: “Some people think it is important to have the following aspects to be a true Pakistani whereas other people think these are not as important. To what extent do you agree? (Supporting Pakistan’s cricket team).”
