9 in 10 Pakistanis say that religion is very important in their life, only 1% claim religion is not important at all (World Values Survey & Gallup & Gilani Pakistan Poll)

Islamabad, 07th August, 2020

According to a World Values Survey and Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 90% Pakistanis say that religion is very important in their life, only 1% claim religion is not important at all.

A representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “How important is religion in your life?” In response, 90% said religion is very important, another 7% said it is rather important, 2% said not very important while only 1% said religion is not important at all.

Comparative Picture:

The question “How important is religion in your life?” was asked previously between 1994-1998 and 80% Pakistanis then said very important while between 1999-2004, 82% claimed that religion is very important.
